"On the Central Pacific the only contract taken by Mormons was that of Benson, Farr and West, who grappled with the great undertaking of building the western road from the vicinity of Humboldst Wells to Ogden. The contractors were Apostle Ezra T. Benson, of Logan, Cache County, President Lorin Farr and Bishop Chauncey W. West, of Ogden. Originally the contract was taken by President Farr alone, but on the advice of President Young he associated himself with the two others. Under this firm were the following named sub-contractors: Andrew Anderson, R. Ballantyne, Burrop and Company, Thomas Bingham, H. Bullen, William Budge, E. T. Benson, John E. Bitton, B. Cozier and Company, Eugene Campbell, Collett and Bankhead, Collett and Company, M.C. Carter, Dispennet Aldrich and Company, Jospeh Edge, I.H. Freeman, John Farrill, Fitzgerald and Aldrich, A.F. Divorce Mary McCloy vs. Robt McCloy, April 13, 1863
Minutes of Probate Court Logan Apr. 13, 1863
Before Peter Maughan, Presiding, Court opened at 8 A. M.
Mrs. Mary McCloy having brought a complaint against her husband, Robert McCloy, desiring a Bill of Divorce upon the following grounds: general dissatisfaction with her husband.
Upon hearing the case, and there being apparently no chance for the parties to live together as husband and wife should do, the Court decreed a separation and divorce, and made the following decision in regard to the property:
That Mary McCloy shall have a cow and calf, and five sheep and two lambs, and that Robt McCloy shall keep the balance of the property, help to maintain his child, and pay for his wife's board bill at Wellsville, a Sharp's rifle valued at $40.00 and twenty bushels of wheat; and that he pay the expense of the Court, $10.00
