    • Handwritten diary and autobiography. Brown's record starts with an autobiography which takes him to the year 1856 when his diary begins. Brown was converted to the Mormon Church, lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, and knew Joseph Smith, the first president of the Mormon Church. Brown migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, moved to the St. George, Utah area, served on a mission for the Mormon Church in England, and colonized Nutriosa, Arizona.
