  • 1820: Spring 1820: Fourteen year-old Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son in a grove near his father's farm.

  • 1830: On April 6, 1830 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized in Fayette, New York.

  • 1831: May - June 1831: New York immigrants arrived in Ohio.
  • 1831: June 7, 1831: Commandment was given to go to Missouri.
  • 1831: July 1831: Colesville Saints arrived in Missouri.
1833 
  • 1833: November - December 1833: Saints expelled from Jackson County, Missouri.
1834 
  • 1834: March - May 1834: Members recruited for Zion's Camp.
  • 1834: June 21 - 29 1834: Cholera attacked Zion's Camp.
  • 1834: August 1834: Zion's Camp returned.
1836 
  • 1836: Summer 1836: Saints began settling Far West.
  • 1836: December 26, 1836: Caldwell County, Missouri was created.
1837 
  • 1837: July 1837: First missionaries preached the gospel in Great Britain.
1838 
  • 1838: July - October 1838: Kirtland camp journeyed to Missouri.
  • 1838: May 1838: Adam-ondi-Ahman was founded.
  • 1838: June 1838: Town of DeWitt, Carroll County, Missouri was settled.
10 1839 
  • 1839: The first land in Nauvoo was purchased by Joseph Smith, Jr. on April 30,1839 and members of the Church started moving there in May of 1839.
  • 1839: February 1839: Large - scale migration from Missouri began.
11 1841 
  • 1841: January 15, 1841: First Presidency issued a proclamation urging all Saints "scattered abroad" to gather to Nauvoo, Illinois.
12 1844 
  • 1844: Joseph Smith, Jr. and Hyrum Smith were martyred in Carthage, Illinois on June 27, 1844
13 1845 -46 
  • 1845 -46: Winter 1845 - 46: Saints prepared for the exodus to the West.
14 1846 
  • 1846: The first Pioneers left Nauvoo on February 4, 1846.
  • 1846: March 1846: Camp of Israel left Sugar Creek.
  • 1846: April 24, 1846: Garden Grove, Iowa founded.
  • 1846: May 16, 1846: Mount Pisgah, Iowa founded.
  • 1846: June 14, 1846: Original Pioneer Company reached Missouri River.
  • 1846: July 1 - 20, 1846: Mormon Battalion recruited.
  • 1846: September 1846: Winter Quarters established.
  • 1846: September 1846: Battle of Nauvoo and evacuation of poor Saints
  • 28 Dec 1846: Iowa becomes the 29th state.
